Day 1. NAIROBI TO MASAI MARA

We will pick you up in Nairobi around 7am this morning and proceed on the scenic journey towards the Maasai Mara (approx. 5hr drive). We will descend down the Great Rift Valley escarpment on route where you have the opportunity to stop for photos at the lookout point. We hope to reach our accommodation of Basecamp Masai Mara, near Talek in the Masai Mara, in time for lunch. This afternoon we will head out for our first game drive of the safari. The Maasai Mara is a Big 5 National Game Reserve meaning it is home to all of the Big 5; Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Leopard and Buffalo, although some of them are very hard to spot so what you see all depends on your luck on the day! We will return to camp this evening for dinner and overnight. Included meals: Lunch, Dinner

Day 2. MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

Today we will head out into the Masai Mara National Reserve for a full day game drive with packed lunches which we will enjoy later under a shady tree. We will have time to explore large areas of the reserve today and visit an area frequented by Hippos and Crocodiles before we return to our camp late this afternoon for dinner and overnight. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner 

Day 3. MASAI MARA TO LAKE NAKURU

We will depart the Masai Mara after breakfast today and begin the drive to Lake Nakuru National Park (approx. 5hr drive), where we will go to Lake Nakuru Lodge for lunch. In the afternoon we’ll go for a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park where we hope to spot the two different Rhino species along with the Rothschild giraffe and plenty of different bird life, before we return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 4. LAKE NAKURU TO NAIROBI

Today we will go for a final early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park before we return to the lodge for breakfast and check out. On route back to Nairobi we will go for a boat trip on Lake Naivasha for around 1 hour to look for hippos and the African Fish Eagle and you will have an opportunity to get lunch (not included). We expect to arrive back to Nairobi in the late afternoon (approx. 4hr drive in total today). Included meals:Breakfast

Day 1. NAIROBI TO NAIVASHA

We will pick you up this morning in Nairobi and begin the drive to Naivasha which will take approximately 3 hours depending on traffic, on route you will have the opportunity to stop for photos at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. On arrival in Naivasha we will head to our accommodation at Elsamere Lodge for lunch. This afternoon we will take a boat trip to Crescent Island Game Sanctuary and take a walk amongst the resident wildlife. Included meals: Lunch, Dinner

Day 2. NAIVASHA 

This morning you will be able to get out on bikes and head into Hell’s Gate National Park to explore this scenic park with its rock formations and wildlife. This is one of the only parks in Kenya where you can walk and cycle inside due to the lack of dangerous predators. You will cycle 16km in total as you explore Fischers Tower and the Ol Njorowa Gorge inside. This afternoon you will have some time to relax at your lodge and enjoy your surroundings with afternoon tea. You can also visit the in-house Born Free museum at your accommodation if you wish. Day 3. NAIVASHA TO LAKE NAKURU

After breakfast today, we will drive a couple of hours to Lake Nakuru National Park and go to Lake Nakuru Lodge for lunch. After lunch we’ll go for an afternoon game drive where we hope to spot the two different Rhino species in this park along with the Rothschild giraffe and plenty of different bird life, before we return to the lodge for dinner. Day 4. LAKE NAKURU TO MASAI MARA

We will depart Lake Nakuru after breakfast and make the journey to the Masai Mara which will take us around 4-5 hours. We will drive to our camp near Talek, Basecamp Explorer, for lunch and later this afternoon go for a game drive. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 5. MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

Today we will head out early into the Masai Mara for a full day game drive with packed lunches which we will enjoy later under a shady tree. The Masai Mara is a Big 5 National Game Reserve meaning it is home to all of the Big 5; Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Leopard and Buffalo. Although some of them are very hard to spot so what you see all depends on your luck on the day. This evening will return to our camp for dinner and overnight. Included meals:Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 6. MASAI MARA TO NAIROBI

We will game drive out of the Masai Mara by 10am today. You will have the chance to participate in an optional activity this morning such as the Masai village visit or nature walk, before we head back to Nairobi, where we expect to arrive by the late afternoon. Included meals: Breakfast

Day 2. AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Today we have a full day in Amboseli National Park to explore. We’ll take a walk up Observation Hill and check out the swamp, hopefully we will see some big herds of elephants, including the big tuskers. When the weather is clear here, it’s also possible to see great views of Mount Kilimanjaro, hopefully we’ll be lucky! Overnight Serena Amboseli Lodge. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 3. AMBOSELI TO TSAVO WEST 

After breakfast today we will depart Amboseli and start heading east to Tsavo West National Park for lunch at Serena Kilaguni Lodge. This park features some stunning dramatic scenery, created from the past volcanic activity and lava flows. It’s also home to Mzima Springs, an oasis in the parched land, which provides fresh water to large parts of the Kenyan coast. We’ll go for an afternoon game drive and then overnight Serena Kilaguni Lodge. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 4. TSAVO WEST TO TSAVO EAST

This morning we will game drive our way out of Tsavo West and head to Tsavo East. You will feel the temperatures start to rise as we make our way closer to the Kenyan coast! We hope to arrive at our lovely accommodation of Satao Camp for lunch. And then later this afternoon we’ll go for a late afternoon game drive. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 5. TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK

We have a full day in Tsavo East today to explore. The Tsavo parks combined make one of the largest national parks in Africa, and Tsavo East is the largest national park in Kenya. It is home to the famous red dust covered elephants and over 500 different recorded species of birds, as well any many other animals. We will spend our final night at Satao Camp. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 6. TSAVO EAST TO MOMBASA OR NAIROBI

After breakfast today we will depart Tsavo East. You have the option to head to Mombasa (approx. 4hr drive), or back to Nairobi (approx. 7hr drive), where we will drop you off at your desired location. Included meals: Breakfast

Day 1. NAIROBI TO OLPEJETA CONSERVANCY

We will pick you up from your accommodation in Nairobi around 8am this morning and start heading north on the scenic journey to Ol Pejeta Conservancy (approx. 4hr drive). We hope to arrive at our accommodation of Serena Sweetwaters for lunch, where you can dine with waterhole views. Later this afternoon we will go for a game drive to explore the conservancy. Included meals: Lunch, Dinner

Day 2. OLPEJETA CONSERVANCY

Today we have the whole day to explore the conservancy. We’ll visit the chimp sanctuary, a refuge for previously neglected and rescued chimps, and also visit Baraka the blind Rhino, as well as doing game drives. Tonight we’ll spend another night at Serena Sweetwaters. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 3. OLPEJETA CONSERVANCY TO SAMBURU 

After breakfast this morning we will game drive out of the conservancy and begin the journey further north to Samburu National Reserve (approx. 3hr drive). Here you will feel the temperature start to rise, but our accommodation at Simba Lodge has a much needed swimming pool! We’ll have lunch at the lodge and later in the afternoon go for a game drive. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 4. SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE

Today we have the whole day to explore the Buffalo Springs area of Samburu where we can continue of search for the Samburu Special Five; the Grevy’s Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, and Beisa Oryx. Because of the heat, we would recommend heading out for an early morning a late afternoon game drive today, rather than going out for the whole day! Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 5. SAMBURU TO MERU NATIONAL PARK

We’ll have time for a final early morning game drive today if you wish, before we head to iKweta Camp, just close to the rarely visited Meru National Park. The roads are quite bad with potholes and speed bumps but we hope for the drive time to be 3-4 hours. After lunch at camp we’ll go for an afternoon game drive. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 6. MERU NATIONAL PARK

You have the option to head out for the whole day today, or to go for a morning an afternoon game drive. Meru National Park has an 87 square kilometre Rhino Sanctuary, and the rest of the park also has good chances to spot Reticulated Giraffe, Elephants, Lions and Hippos. We’ll spend our final night at iKweta tonight. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 7. MERU NATIONAL PARK TO NAIROBI

This morning you can head out for a final early morning game drive, or you can opt to head out on foot for an optional 2hr nature walk excursion offered by iKweta Camp to Gatwe ‘Skull Hill’ for around 2 hours.  Alternatively you can just relax at camp or by the pool until around 10am when we will make the journey back to Nairobi (approx. 6-7hr drive). On arrival in Nairobi we will drop you off at your desired location. Included meals: Breakfast

Day 3. AMBOSELI TO NAIVASHA

After breakfast we will depart Amboseli and head north again to Naivasha which will be around a 6-7 hour drive. We will stop on route for you to get lunch (not included) and close by to Naivasha you will have the opportunity to stop for photos at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. On arrival in Naivasha we will head to Naivasha Sopa Lodge, which will be our accommodation for the next two nights. Included meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 4. NAIVASHA
